Whitney Lee, Founder
Whitney is an attorney based in Washington, District of Columbia. In 2018, Whitney became concerned about the rise of cyber-harassment and cyberstalking and she came up with the idea to create CYREIN to provide a resource for people being harassed or stalked online. She holds a J.D. from Columbia Law School and she graduated from Columbia with Parker School Honors in international law. While at Columbia, she served as Head Notes Editor for the Columbia Journal of Transnational Law. She holds an LL.M. degree from the University of Amsterdam in International Criminal Law with a focus on cybercrime. She also holds a B.A. degree from Harvard University where she concentrated in Government with a subfield of International Relations. She is passionate about data privacy and serving others. In her free time, Whitney enjoys singing, designing video game custom content, and baking. (Languages: English, French, Arabic)
Michael Altman, Advisor
Michael is an attorney based in Buffalo, New York. He graduated magna cum laude from the University at Buffalo School of Law and completed a concentration in Intellectual Property and Privacy. While in law school, Michael served as an Executive Publication Editor of the Buffalo Law Review and as a student attorney with the Puerto Rico Recovery Assistance Legal Clinic, which has provided legal assistance to the people of Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. Prior to law school, Michael received his bachelor's degree from Harvard University, concentrating in East Asian Studies with a secondary field in Music. He greatly enjoys playing the guitar and writing music. (Languages: English, Spanish)
Ji-Hyun Kim (김지현), Advisor
Ji-Hyun is an attorney based in Seoul, South Korea who specializes in data security and privacy. Ji-Hyun holds a B.A. from Yonsei University and a J.D. from Seoul National University Law School. (Languages: Korean, English, Japanese)
